Chippewa Valley Technical College

Chippewa Valley Technical College is discontinuing their Records and Information Management Specialist Certificate program.  Students currently enrolled will be able to finish the certificate during the 2003-2004 school year. New students interested in the certificate program should contact Grace Rich at 1-800-547-2882 to discuss a course sequence and completion plan.  The last class will be offered March 17, 2004 and students will need to finish by July 30, 2004.

 

This certificate is designed to prepare students for positions in Records and Image Management. University of North Dakota

UND offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Information Systems which entails broad preparation for a variety of careers in corporate, government, and small business environments. The program focuses in three broad areas: network development and administration, database design and development, and records and electronic data management. Emphasis is placed on how to apply general management and information systems principles to working effectively with people in technology-intensive business environments.

An Information Systems major at UND prepares students through a curriculum that includes a liberal arts-general education component, a core of business courses common to all UND business degrees, and specialized courses in Information Systems. Specialized courses include operating systems, computer applications in business, systems analysis and design, records and information management systems, database management, telecommunications, network development and maintenance, and related courses.

UND Information Systems graduates can pursue careers as systems administrators, systems analysts, webmasters and web designers, database administrators, software developers, business analysts, program analysts, IS consultants, technology support, records managers, records analysts, records retention managers, office managers, managers of administration services, managers of computer-based information systems, equipment and systems vendors and a wide variety of emerging positions with the broad information industry.
